Seek Discipline!

Last week I split the contents of The Slave Register website between www.slaveregister.com and a new site www.seekdiscipline.com . In short, Seek Discipline! ("SD!") gets the web boards, profiles, pictures and networks, and the certificates and listings stay on The Slave Register ("TSR"). I've done this so the site names better reflect what's on them....

Master/slave conference and
I've got a bunch of things to say about it, but I'm going to try to give an
overview in this blog and them come back to individual topics later....

TSR Meeting in London

came to the first TSR Meeting, and write a bit about the event for those who
couldn't be there....

Master/slave UK mailing list resurrected

The Master-slave-uk list on Yahoo Groups dates back to early 2000 but it's been on ice for several years now. However, as the number of UK people talking about their Master/slave relationships on TSR grows, I've opened Master-slave-uk up again to new members.

TSR Meeting in London, 9th June

The Slave Register is planning a meeting for people in or seeking ownership relationships, at a venue in central London on Saturday the 9th of June, from 5pm onwards. The format will be informal, probably with a round table discussion on topic(s) advertised in advance and including a buffet.

Barcode tags ... really do scan!

I've now been able to try out barcode dogtags from two of the sources listed on the SLRN barcode suppliers page. I'm very impressed with the results, in particular that both types are scannable, despite being quite different in appearance to the high-contrast black-on-white barcodes you see in supermarkets and bookshops every day....

TSR weblogs listing overhauled

I've now completed a major update to the Ownership and M/s Weblogs listings, which link to recent postings from
a couple of dozen blogs. The list is updated four times a day
and is now spread over multiple pages so you can go back a month or so to find posts that interest you.

Registration for MASTER/slave Conference opens

Registration for the annual MASTER/slave Conference in Washington, DC has now opened. The conference takes place over the weekend of the 27-29th July 2007, and is the only major convention specific to M/s and 24/7 D/s relationships. The Northeast MASTER/slave Contest also takes place during the weekend of workshops and talks.
(The Slave Register is now a Gold Sponsor of this event :) )

M/s and Ownership listings pages

Over the weekend I added a listings section to The Slave Register, with a
comprehensive
list of suppliers of lockable metal collars, a page
linking to other ownership-orientated discussion forums,
a list of
M/s conferences, and the daily weblogs feed that TSR has had for a while. A lot of this information is available on general BDSM sites like IC, but the items that are most relevant to ownership (like locking collars) are difficult to find in amongst so much else.

A short history of The Slave Register

As part of an overhaul of TSR's help pages, I've written an account of how the Register came about in 2000, and its subsequent growth: we're now up to 100,000 TSR profiles and 88,000 registration numbers. It's been funny thinking back to the turn of the millennium and the various books, websites and exhibitions that had planted the seeds in the previous few years. If you're interested, then the TSR history page has the full story.

Ownership Icons

Today (Sunday) I put a page of ownership icons online on The Slave Register, and added them to the TSR system so people can show them on their web board posts (so far - other places in the system to follow.) I think they might be more generally useful too, since we don't really have symbols for this kind of thing amongst the various flags and signs that BDSM/Leather has acquired....
