TSR Meeting in London
Posted by Tanos on Mon 11 Jun 07, 11:21 PM
We got back from London yesterday and I want to say thank you to everyone who
came to the first TSR Meeting, and write a bit about the event for those who
couldn't be there.
A dozen people came, including five couples and triples in ownership
relationships. This number
worked very well since we could still all sit round one big table in the
upstairs room we had, and have a single conversation for most of the meeting.
I'd initially suggested 5pm-6pm for socialising, 6-7 for discussion, 7-8 for
the buffet, and finishing around 9pm. This was really in case things got
out of hand and we were going to end up with yet another munch spent talking
about everything but BDSM. However, I needn't have worried as we
talked solidly about M/s and 24/7 D/s relationships from about quarter to
6 until 9'ish!
As you can imagine, we covered a lot of topics, and these are some that
I remember:
- Why people don't feel any need to post, whilst others find it very
helpful
- Making contact with and without the Internet
- BDSM Play Scene vs M/s
- How public and online personas correspond to the personality behind
them
- Talking about the difficult parts of relationships.
- "Real" as "better than you" vs "real" as "really doing what you say
you're doing".
- Do some people somewhere really progress through an apprentice /
journeyman / master training system?
- Difficulties with vanilla friendships, and how far to be out.
- Does challenging boundaries help a relationship progress
- Locations for future meetings
Thanks again to everyone who came: we're probably going to have another one in the next 3 or 4 months.
